Reducing poverty takes addressing, exposing, combating, improving and/or eliminating systemic issues that underlie the hardships so many Rhode Islanders face. Our 2026 agenda reflects a combination of measures to position our state to be better for all.

These seven priorities can keep families together despite harmful federal decisions; give workers a chance to organize for living wages and improved benefits; and feed all school children without the stigma that has led to bullying. They can also reduce the chances of living paycheck to paycheck and increase tax fairness while giving the state more revenue for the long-standing gaps in education, healthcare and more. additional Safe and affordable housing means less people worrying about where they will sleep each night and A better ripta supports our working class, students, housing initiatives, and climate goals.

These priorities lift up those with less as well as our economy and how we all live, work and play.
